Welcome To The E.I.I.Festival 2008

Originally founded in 1999 as a freely given gift
to the online international creative community from a single
Edinburgh based artist - The seventh Edinburgh International
Internet Festival (E.I.I.Festival 2008) returns remaining
faithful to it's two core objectives:-
To provide a freely available, non commercial online
platform for both Scottish and international creative arts
during Edinburgh's Festival Season.
To demonstrate the possibilities offered by web and
digital technology within local communities and encourage
community based groups, projects and organisations to make the
best use of such technology.
Between 1999 & 2008 the non commercial
event has provided free online promotion and web based services
during the annual Edinburgh Festival season and beyond for...

(UC-Edinburgh) is a proposal
for a combined training
provision and community web
development project centred
around a new online
community information,
advice and news website -
produced and maintained by a
team of disabled and
socially isolated
individuals working through
the UC-Edinburgh initiative
to develop new skills with a
view to getting off
incapacity benefits and
obtaining full time
employment.

SDCA
is an independent digital arts and web development initiative based upon
Scotfestival's activities within the communities of Edinburgh. The aim of the initiative is to assist in the
provision and expansion of digital and multimedia based material within the
community infrastructure of Edinburgh and beyond.
Over the summer and autumn of 2008 we will
re-launching our Scottish Digital Community Arts (SDCA)
initiative and will be freely providing creative and web design
experience and assistance for a number of Edinburgh based
charities, community organisations and creative projects both
across the city and beyond.
SDCA will also be working both online and at a 'Grass-Roots'
level within our local communities to encourage and assist
organisations and community projects to make better use of the
internet, online networking services and digital technology.
In addition - Over the course of this year's Internet Festival
SDCA will be hosting a series of profiles detailing how
organisations and projects from around the world are using the
web and digital technology to make a real impact within their
local communities.
