| UC-Edinburgh's Management Structure

Management Team
Prior to the launch of the UC-Edinburgh project, a management
team would be formed to develop the initiative as a formally
constituted body able to apply for funding from official and
governmental sources. The management team working under the
title 'IC-Edinburgh' (Integrating Communities - Edinburgh) would
also investigate additional potential fund-raising opportunities
such as obtaining commercial sponsors and business
partnership/investment.
Working with the Benefits Agency alongside educational and adult
training resources for disabled people across Edinburgh - The
management team would seek to develop this initial proposal into
a finalised programme able to provide back to work training for
those on long term disability and incapacity benefits.
Project Management
A UC-Edinburgh project manager would be appointed to oversee the
general management of the project and work with the IC-Edinburgh
management team and UC-Edinburgh Creative Manager to instigate
the training programme's infrastructure.
The project manager would also have a range of duties and
responsibilities including...
- General administration and accounting.
- Organisation and management of volunteer tutors.
- Training programme and client list management.
- Working with the UC-Edinburgh Creative Manager to
develop relationships within Edinburgh's various social and
creative communities and promote participation in the
UC-Edinburgh initiative.
Creative Management
Working in partnership with the Project Manager – The UC-Edinburgh
Creative Manager would act as editor and general manager for all
UC-Edinburgh online, multi-media and print based material.
In addition the Creative Manager would have a range of duties
and responsibilities including...
- Maintenance and updating of UC-Edinburgh website.
- Overseeing creation of content for use via online,
digital and print mediums.
- Organisation and development of educational/creative
workshops and events.
- Working with tutors to create material and digital
services for use in training sessions and workshops.
Office & Workshop Premises
The management Committee would establish the general office and
workspace needs of the project. However, to maximise the
potential of the project’s social inclusion objectives,
workshops and classes would largely be held within
community-based organisations such as community centres and
libraries.
